The software is delivered with the code (written in Java) so that in case of need you can ether choose to modify it with your own developers or ask Init Technologies to do it.
eMedPatient software runs also with a MySql DataBase which is free of charge for humanitarian organisations. It also works with MS SQL, MYSQL and SYBASE.

When the doctor establishes a diagnosis and chooses the appropriate pathology, he glances through the pathology classification. This is made up in tree hierarchical levels

| Prescription : |
By prescription, the doctor is alerted when the patient is allergic to the medication or to a component of a medication. The software proposes an alternative medication with the same properties. This can be done by using the ATC (Anatomical Therapeutical Chemical.) code. The Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification System is used for the classification of drugs. It is controlled by the WHO Collaborating Centre for Drug Statistics Methodology, and was first published in 1976.
Prescriptions can only be done by authorized staff, who are organised by power levels.
The same medication (master item) can exist under different versions, under its original or generic names (secondary item) and can be produced and delivered by different suppliers. The master items include the common information’s to all secondary items (international denomination, unit of measure, ATC, …) while the items include their own specifications (denomination, price, supplier, CNK, …)

For each medication, the notice is linked so that the doctor can easily check the interactions, precautionary measures, …
Each item record contents a “Status Account” field which will govern the transactions (stock flow) of this item. This parameter is bind to the item in his entirety (batch, range). Its value lets known about its status (use-by date, in packaging, available, being delivered, …)
The stock control tracks all medications and items from the central stock until the final user. Items can be called back for destruction (use-by date), maintaining, and packaging. At any time, the position of any item is known.
Any prescription generates a stock flow.
The system calculates automatically and daily, at each level the needs in order to maintain the stock at its minimum.

In case of emergency and depending on what kind of emergency, the
endowment management lists the necessary items and checks their availability in the various stocks and the delivery delay.
Collective prescriptions such as a vaccination campaign (preventive & curative) will generate prevision stock flow, editing list of concerned patients, scheduling staff and patients, organize recalls, …
The aim of the distribution list is to define for a ward which medication has to be delivered to whom, at what time, how often. The automation of
this task lets win in time and trace the medications.
All information about patients are registered (personal information, history, intervention, prescription, appointment, reimbursing, …) Each doctor who follows up a patient access to all his registered information even about what happens in an other ward or during a previous stay.
The software propose also a module of budgetary control.
Staff can be equipped with wireless Pocket PC or Tablet PC, so that when visiting their patient, they have handy complete information (medical & administrative data) and encode directly the information.
The application generates the reports which are then sent by e-mail. At the office, they are automatically handled. (Statistical, accounting, data bases).
